Rayo Vallecano Background and History:

In 1999, the Vallecano football team made a remarkable turnaround. They had been struggling for years in both Spanish league divisions but finally broke through to capture their first-ever promotion by winning La Liga's Copa Del Rey that year - a historic moment that still has them celebrated today!

The Vallecanian team had a glorious year in 2001, but after their successful performance, they fell into an era of struggle. They were eventually relegated from La Liga and dropped to the second-tier league called "La Betica" which means The Little League or baby league depending on who you ask!
